Professional Consultations in Downsizing, Estate Liquidation, and Appraisals Since there are several options available, many more quirky collections and collector clubs can be introduced to each other. Therefore, before items are put into the trash or donated, a consultant should be brought in to view all of the items. Elinor arranges for an initial three hour session in the home or location of the downsizing collection of items. The cost is $150 and an appointment is necessary, often on Mondays or Tuesdays when the store is closed. Elinor does not run the estate sales or yard sales herself. Instead, Elinor requests from the downsizing clients that she hsa the first opportunity to purchase items at the market value for her store. In many instances, the $150 fee is waived and credited to the Vintage Mirage purchase. For more information on our Downsizing Consultations, please click here. Rebuttoning of Garments
Rebuttoning of garments is a special service offered by Vintage Mirage. Clients can use this service to enhance a favorite garment, create a unique new look on an ordinary garment, and preserve the wearability of a vintage garment. When the client has brought in the garment to be measure, a future appointment is suggested, giving Elinor time to research and put together sets of buttons from which to choose.
We have a vast array of single buttons as well as sets of buttons
are for sale, spanning the historic periods and materials from the Victorian era to
the present designers. These range from Victorian black glass, to rhinestone and
gold vermilion suit buttons, to 1950's bakelite coat buttons and

Special Occasion Dressing Advice by the staff of Vintage Mirage offers clients the best and most efficient way of choosing an outfit and accessories. This service can be very helpful when the occasion calls for a garment which is made to be worn in a different season, as an example. The staff at Vintage Mirage become personal shoppers and stylist guides for a complete look for the client. We offer the suggestions in order to guide the client as to the type of garment appropriate for the event, time of day, era of fashion, and more important, makes sure that the look of the outfit enhances the bueaty and comfort zone of the client. These special occasion appointments take one hour at the minimum , should be arranged in advance, and the client should bring the best quality undergarments, stockings, high heels, veils or any other special item with them to the appointment. This special service is also inclusive for bridal gown and accessory consultations and fittings. Personal Styling for the Individual Client
The fun of wearing vintage garments and accessories provide an opportunity of uniqueness in dressing, the whole architecture of the body form the vantage point of several ears in fashion. Since vintage items are one of a kind, the way in which a client incorporates the garments and accessories in with the already existing wardrobe offers endless possibilities. Since some garments are more restrictive in nature than others, or have special requirements of care, the staff of Vintage Mirage will guide the customer to ensure comfort, lifestyle and glamor. As a service to clients, the staff of Vintage Mirage have magazines and news of the current and future trends of fashion houses and designers from New York City, Paris, London, Milan, Japan and Asia. Elinor and the staff will demonstrate to the customer combinations of items which will expand the overall look to make for a unique fashion statement. Educational outreach is part of the mission of Vintage Mirage; from a collector's point of view, educating the community about the value, preservation, history and upkeep of antique and vintage items is tantamount to preserving the finest examples of bygone eras. These antiques present in actual hands on and concrete manner the workmanship of countless diverse peoples through time. These treasures are our link into the thoughts, aesthetics, views and ingenuity of the past and into the present and future.
